Instead, Kingdom Hearts is a mess of its own lore and clumsy action JRPG gameplay that manages to push both Disney and Final Fantasy to the periphery of what people need to focus on while they play. The series has already shown the Master having a hand in key moments of the past, like setting young Xehanort on his quest. There's a possibility that Sora being chosen by the Keyblade could have been orchestrated by the Master, or an alternate-timeline Sora. Keep in mind as well that the original Keyblade master was Riku, but after he fell to darkness the Keyblade chose Sora instead. The Master has traveled throughout time and space, and many believe that his true identity is a future, adult Sora. ![]() Time travel is an important plot point in Kingdom Hearts, and Sora rewrites the timeline in Kingdom Hearts 3 after everyone's defeated by the wave of darkness. ![]() The theory has been gaining traction over the last couple of years on forums, and the most obvious reason is that the Master and Sora have very similar mannerisms. ![]() What makes the acronyms even more interesting is a popular fan theory that says the identity of the Master is none other than Sora himself.
